Before you submit

  • Only submit content you own or have permission to share. By submitting, you confirm you have the necessary rights and grant The Africa Standard a non-exclusive, worldwide license to use, reproduce, and publish the material in all formats and media (unless otherwise agreed).
  • Do not submit content that violates privacy rights, promotes violence, or contains illegal material. We will not publish content that breaches our ethics, legal obligations, or platform standards.

How to submit

  • Use our submission form (link), or send attachments via encrypted email or our secure upload portal. For large files, use the secure upload link and reference your email.

Release & consent forms

  • If submissions include identifiable private individuals (including minors), we may require written consent from the subject or their legal guardian before publishing.

Corrections, clarifications & complaints

  • How to report an error: Email corrections@africastandard.com with the article link and a clear explanation. Attach supporting documents where available.
  • Our corrections policy: We publish corrections and clarifications promptly when we verify an error. Significant errors are corrected both in the article and with a visible correction note. Retractions are issued in cases of seriously misleading information that cannot be corrected.
  • Editorial complaints: If you believe our reporting breached our editorial standards, please send a detailed complaint to ombudsman@africastandard.com (or editorial@). We aim to investigate and reply within a reasonable timeframe.

The Africa Standard follows internationally recognized journalism standards, including:
